While the Indianapolis Colts suffered a brutal loss to the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, rookie receiver Josh Downs continued to show signs that he is a real weapon in Shane Steichen's offense, and some statistics show that he is one of the best receivers on third down.

Josh Downs had five receptions for 125 yards against the Browns in the Colts' loss, and three of those catches were on third down, going for 99 of his 125 yards, according to Stephen Holder. Only four receivers in the NFL have more third down yardage than Downs, and those receivers are DJ Moore, Nico Collins, Puka Nacua and Tyreek Hill, according to Holder.

The Colts got some tough news regarding rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson this week, finding out that he will miss the rest of the season due to a shoulder injury. This is valuable time that could be used to figure out if Anthony Richardson is the quarterback of the future for the team. Regardless, we are finding out that Down is a reliable target, whether it be for Richardson or for Gardner Minshew.

It will be interesting to see how Shane Steichen and the Colts take advantage of Downs' skills the rest of this season. It seems as if he is another strong weapon alongside Jonathan Taylor and Michael Pittman Jr.

The Colts fell to 3-4 after the loss to the Browns. They have games against the Saints, Panthers and Patriots coming up. If the Colts want to stay in the race for the AFC South, they will need to pick up some wins over these next few games.
