Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor and the Colts offense provided plenty of firepower against one of the league's best defensive units, but a few questionable calls late by the officials may have cost the Colts a win in Week 7 over the Cleveland Browns.

Jonathan Taylor, Colts

Here's what Jonathan Taylor had to say about the tough penalties that turned the game for the Colts, via James Boyd.

“It’s a dagger,” Taylor said. “It's a dagger because you know, you've seen how the defense has played. And you've seen the fight and all that they've given and it's tough. The best thing you can do is to not let the refs get involved in the game. If you guys are handling business and executing on every play, the refs should not be a factor.”

One of the plays that had the biggest impact on the result of the Week 7 matchup between the Colts and Browns was a late defensive pass interference call against Indianapolis on an uncatchable ball.

The Colts' offense puts up big points in the tough loss

The Browns ended up winning the game 39-38 in a surprisingly high-scoring battle with both teams playing their backup quarterbacks. Gardner Minshew got the start for the Colts in place of injured rookie Anthony Richardson and ran for two touchdowns, while PJ Walker took over for Deshaun Watson, who left the game after taking a big hit in the first quarter and throwing yet another interception.

The Colts are now 3-4 on the season. Indianapolis will look to get back on the winning side in Week 8 with a home matchup against the visiting New Orleans Saints.
