Despite four-time Pro-Bowl quarterback Andrew Luck shockingly stepping down from the NFL over the weekend, star wide receiver TY Hilton says the Indianapolis Colts have the same goals for the upcoming season.

Per ESPN's Ed Werder:

“Goals remain the same,’’ he said. “We going out and we playing so anybody that takes us lightly or feel we wounded, come on and try it.’’

Hilton, 29, is the No. 1 option for Indy's offense and developed a great chemistry with the now-retired Luck. The Colts selected the FIU standout in the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft. He has recorded five seasons worth of 1,000-plus receiving yards in his seven-year career with Indianapolis.

Backup quarterback Jacoby Brissett, who previously took the reins of the offense in 2017 while Luck was injured the entire season, finishing 4-12, will be suddenly thrust into the starting QB role, although he has experience there. Brissett is a former Patriots backup as well, but clearly does not compete with the vision and arm strength Luck, who won Comeback Player of the Year last season, provided to lift the Colts into Super Bowl contention.

Hilton will be expected to lead the depleted—from a QB position wise—offense, shouldering the responsibilities of leading Indy in receiving yards with a lesser signal-caller under center.

While Luck ponders his post-NFL career away from the game, the Colts are left in the dust, wondering how they will compete in 2019 after a solid run last season was cut short before the AFC Championship Game.
