Cornerback Xavier Rhodes was recently released by his long-time team in the Minnesota Vikings during the offseason. On Sunday, he will line up alongside the Indianapolis Colts against his former club, after he was booted out from the Twin Cities.

The eight-year veteran claimed there were no hard feelings and was also grateful for his time spent with the team.

“It’s all love,” he said, via the team’s website. “I was there for seven years. It was a brotherhood when I was there, and it’s still a brotherhood to this day. So it’s going to be good going against those guys. When I was practicing against those guys when I was there, we were competing each and every play so it’s going to be the same right there on the field. But I’m going to be able to tackle them this time.”

Not long after his release from the Vikings, the Florida State product was then picked up by the Colts from the free-agent market. However, Rhodes' debut with his new team didn't turn out the way he hoped it to be due to his crucial errors and miscues throughout the game.

He was flagged for a 30-yard pass interference penalty while covering wideout DJ Chark which eventually led to a field goal by the Jaguars. He was also beaten by wide receiver Keelan Cole on the fly as he scored a 22-yard touchdown to ice the game.

Being familiar with the likes of pass-catchers Adam Thielen and Olabisi Johnson will hopefully help the three-time Pro Bowler come out with a better outing in Week 2. He will aim to anchor the team's secondary en route to grabbing their first win of the 2020 season.
