Old face, new place. Former Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett will stay in the NFC East in 2020, as he's hopped on to Joe Judge's New York Giants coaching staff as offensive coordinator.

Garrett's departure from Dallas to arrival in New York is more fuel added to the fire that is the Cowboys vs. Giants rivalry. However, there is no love lost between Garrett and his former quarterback Dak Prescott.

They’re getting a great coach,” Prescott said of Garrett, via NJ Advance Media. “A smart coach. As great at preparing and as professional as any I have ever seen.”“I can’t thank him enough for everything he’s done for my career. Believing in me to drive me and push me to be the player that I have become. I’m thankful for his impact.”

Garrett helped develop Prescott into a perennial Pro Bowl-type player. With Garrett as his head coach for four seasons, the Cowboys quarterback earned NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, and two Pro Bowl nods. He sustained a 97 passer rating while starting every game of those four seasons, going 40-24 in the process.

Not bad for a fourth-round pick.

In New York, Garrett, a former NFL backup quarterback, is tasked with developing a passer the Giants hope faces Prescott plenty of time: Daniel Jones.

Jones, the No. 6 pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, enjoyed a solid rookie season. In 13 games (12 starts), he threw for 24 touchdowns to 12 interceptions on an 87.7 passer rating. What eluded him, however, were wins. The Giants went 3-9 with Jones as their starter.

Ultimately, both the Cowboys and Giants missed the playoffs in 2019.
