When it comes to the Dallas Cowboys (5-6) and their recent struggles, there is plenty of blame to go around.

A lot of that falls on quarterback Dak Prescott, who has thrown zero touchdown passes to five interceptions in the Cowboys' last three games. In that three-game losing streak, Dallas has failed to score in double digits and has lost each game by at least 20 points.

According to Kate Hairopoulos of the Dallas Morning News, Prescott opened up to the media on Monday regarding the Cowboys' bad stretch of games.

“It's frustrating, it's shocking,” Prescott said. “You look around and you see the Pro Bowlers and the talent that you have, it's almost lost at words for why it's happening. But it just shows you this game's tough.”

Prescott reiterated that the blame shouldn't be on just the coaching staff, which continues to receive a vast amount of criticism.

“Look into it deeper,” Prescott said. “You must not know much if you just point fingers at the coaching staff or point fingers at anybody, really. Then you don't know enough. Just look into it more.”

Prescott also said that the Cowboys' lack of an explosive offense as of late is derailing their chances of maintaining any form of success.

“I look in the mirror and I look at the other guys in the play,” Prescott said. “Simply explosion plays, I don't know if you could point at a coach, it's just us, making guys miss and wanting to go get those extra yards. That's just simply about the athleticism of our playmakers and making guys miss.”

Star running back Ezekiel Elliott‘s six-game suspension and All-Pro left tackle Tryon Smith’s back and groin injuries are two of the most glaring deficiencies with the Cowboys right now. Whatever other issues they have going on, the window for being able to get them fixed is closing very quickly with only five games left in the 2017-18 season.

Dallas will look to get back on track this weekend for Thursday Night Football when they host the Washington Redskins (5-6) in a rivalry game with serious playoff implications.
