The Dallas Cowboys are at a standstill in contract talks with three of their key offensive players. Among them, Dak Prescott seems to be displeased with the latest contract proposal he was given by Dallas.

According to Michael Lombardi of The Athletic, Prescott turned down a $30 million per year offer from Dallas. If that is true, Prescott is rejecting a deal that would've made him the sixth highest-paid quarterback in terms of average salary.

The quarterback market continues to escalate each season and this year wasn't any different. This offseason, Russell Wilson, Ben Roethlisberger, and Carson Wentz all received deals that paid them an excess of $32 million per season.

For Prescott, it's wise to compare his future deal to what Wentz was given—since they both came out of the same draft. To be exact, the Philadelphia Eagles gave Wentz a lucrative extension that is worth $128 million over four years.

With how contracts work for quarterbacks, Prescott may want more than the Eagles franchise quarterback. Prescott is seemingly searching for a deal that inserts him into the top-five paid quarterbacks in the league.

Since being drafted in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft, Prescott has helped lead the Cowboys to a 32-16 record in the regular season and got his first playoff victory in 2018 against the Seattle Seahawks.

Along with the wins, the 26-year old signal-caller has thrown for 10,876 yards and 67 touchdowns in his three seasons in the NFL.

Until Jerry Jones is willing to increase the current offer, Prescott seems comfortable proving himself on the field to escalate his worth.
