It is no secret that the Dallas Cowboys lack firepower in their receiving corps. However, this rag-tag group is ready to show the league just what they have been sleeping on.

This unit does not boast any household names on the roster. According to Clarence E. Hill Jr. Fort Worth Star-Telegram, wide receiver Deonte Thompson is confident that they can play at a high level.

“It’s going to be exciting,” Thompson said. “We got a lot of speed. We got a lot of guys that can make plays. It’s going to be a show to watch. … We are going to do some special things. It’s our time. I’m excited to see us play. Everybody has that chip on their shoulder.”

It is encouraging to see that Thompson has such faith in his fellow wideouts. However, the members of this group have found themselves doing more talking than performing. Of course, it is difficult not to do so when they have heard all the critics lament Dallas for their current depth. However, the time has finally arrived for them to prove themselves.

Aside from Thompson, the Cowboys will be relying on a number of unproven players such wide receivers Tavon Austin, Allen Hurns, and Michael Gallup.

0Meanwhile, quarterback Dak Prescott is likely to lean on some of the more longer-tenured players such as wideouts Terrance Williams and Cole Beasley. Dallas should have its work cut out for them against a revamped Carolina Panthers defense in Week 1. However, it will be a solid opportunity for one of these players to establish themselves as a potential safety net for Prescott.
