The Dallas Cowboys had their sights set on the Super Bowl this season. Unfortunately, they fell well short of that goal, once again getting knocked out in the Wild Card round. After the game, ESPN analyst Dan Orlovsky had some critical comments regarding Cowboys' head coach Mike McCarthy and didn't hold back when ripping into him on Monday morning.

Orlovsky highlights all the strong points on the Cowboys roster, which is virtually the entire thing, when trying to decipher what went wrong for America's Team this season. The ESPN analyst then asked his NFL Live co-hosts whether Mike McCarthy made a positive impact on the team.

Orlovsky blasted McCarthy for failing to help players reach their potential, citing the team's lack of preparation for key moments and lack of discipline. The Cowboys were plagued by penalties during the loss to the Niners, a trend that has been negatively impacting the team all year. They had 14 flags called against them during the Wild Card round, something Orlovsky was extremely critical of, and rightfully so.

While the Cowboys had a successful regular season that saw the team win the NFC East with a 12-5 record, Orlovsky questions whether or not McCarthy had anything to do with that. The Cowboys have a highly-talented roster, with stars at virtually every level on both offense and defense, yet they fell well short of their ultimate goal. In the eyes of many, including Orlovsky, the blame lays squarely on the shoulders of the head coach, and he didn't hold back when ripping apart McCarthy in the aftermath of Sunday's loss.
