The Dallas Cowboys have clinched the NFC East for themselves last week, but their regular season job isn't quite over yet. The team is now jockeying for valuable positioning in the playoffs. In Week 17, the Cowboys failed to stop an Arizona Cardinals team that was in the middle of an epic late-season collapse.

The Cowboys' 22 – 25 loss to the Cardinals sets up an interesting scenario: if the season were to end today, these two teams would face each other again in the first round. For defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence, the idea of getting revenge is an offer too good to pass up. (via Michael Gehlken)

“Damn right. …If we see them again, they’re going to get it all from us.”

The Cowboys were in the running for the first seed in the NFC entering Week 17, which would grant them a first-round bye. Their loss to the Cardinals, though, might just have closed the door on their bid to earning the top spot in their conference. It got worse for them, though, as one of their better receivers in Michael Gallup might be done for the year with a potential ACL tear.

It's no doubt that DeMarcus Lawrence and Cowboys are raring to get their revenge against the Cardinals. However, if they want to change the outcome of their next contest, they'll have to tighten up their offensive execution. They came into the game with one of the best, if not the best offense in the league, but costly penalties (10 flags for a total loss of 88 yards) and a lackluster showing from Dak Prescott and his receiving core allowed the Cards to steal an important win from them.
