Former Dallas Cowboys Pro Bowl wide receiver Dez Bryant saw his long wait on the free agent market come to an end Wednesday after he agreed to join the New Orleans Saints on a deal for the rest of the season.

This has led to several notable reactions from his former team, including Pro Bowl running back Ezekiel Elliott wishing him well in the next venture of his career, according to Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk.

“They’re getting a great receiver,” running back Ezekiel Elliott said. “He goes up and attacks the ball better than I’ve seen anyone. He’s definitely a special player, and I’m glad he got picked up and I’m glad something worked out for him.”

There has been plenty of doubt thrown Bryant's way due to his significant decrease in production in each of the last three years, He recorded fewer than 1,000 receiving yards in each campaign. This was a far cry from his numbers between 2012-2014 where he recorded at least 88 catches, 1,200 receiving yards, and 12 touchdowns each of those seasons.

Nonetheless, Bryant is heading to a situation where he can re-establish himself as one of the premier wide receivers in the league while playing alongside another star wideout in Michael Thomas. He has the benefit of working with quarterback Drew Brees, who is still playing some of his best football in his 18th season in the league. The 30-year-old is joining a team that has positioned itself as a legitimate Super Bowl contender behind their potent offense.

This is a chance for Bryant to not only show that he has plenty left in the tank, but also put himself in position to earn a lucrative contract next offseason. This is the type of situation Dez has been eyeing for the last several months, and it's on his shoulders to take advantage of it.
