The Dallas Cowboys haven't officially announced Jason Garrett won't be back, but he has already said his goodbyes to several staff members. According to Jane Slater of NFL Network, who has a source inside the team, Garrett has said goodbye to staff while exchanging information to keep in touch later.

Garrett met with Jerry Jones on Monday and the two are scheduled to meet again at 1 PM ET on Tuesday, although it's unclear if a final decision is going to be made during that meeting.

Sean Lee said on Monday that saying goodbye to everyone was tough because the team didn't meet the goals they set out for before the season.

“It's tough. Tough to take,” said veteran linebacker Sean Lee, who is among the more than 20 players set to become free agents in March via ESPN. “We didn't accomplish the goals we wanted to, didn't play up to the standard that we wanted to. You know these teams change every year, and so saying bye to some guys and knowing that you may never [again] be teammates with some guys, it can be very tough.”

Garrett's contract expires on January 14th and there's a chance the team could drag it out all the way until then to make a decision. If the Cowboys want to make a change and bring in someone else, it's hard to imagine the team is going to drag it out too much longer. Other teams are already in the middle of their coaching search, and the Cowboys probably want to get started soon.
