The Dallas Cowboys have gone from looking like legitimate Super Bowl contenders to a team that looks absolutely lost in a matter of three weeks.

The Cowboys' latest debacle came on Sunday, when they lost to the winless New York Jets to drop them to 3-3 on the year.

As a result, many are wondering just how secure Jason Garrett's job is, but Dallas owner Jerry Jones seemed to give Garrett a slight vote of confidence after the game:

“I'm going to be very trite. I was a lot happier with what he had done the first three games than what's happened the last three games,” Jones said of Garrett, according to Todd Archer of ESPN.com. “But the big thing I want to say is it's not just him. This is across the board. That had a lot of input out there tonight to get in that spot.”

Jones said last week that the chances of Garrett being fired in-season were very unlikely:

“Don't bet any money [on] that happening,” Jones said. “You'll lose it.”

The Cowboys got off to a 3-0 start this season, reeling off wins against the New York Giants, Washington Redskins and Miami Dolphins. However, those teams have a combined record of 3-14, which led some to question just how good Dallas actually was.

The fact that the Cowboys went and lost to a couple of potential playoff teams in the New Orleans Saints and the Green Bay Packers the following two weeks only increased those doubts, and Dallas' defeat to the Jets put the cherry on top.

Fortunately for the Cowboys, their recent losing streak has not bumped them out of first place in the NFC East, as they are tied with the 3-3 Philadelphia Eagles, whom they will host next Sunday.
