The Dallas Cowboys reached another long-term extension on Monday, this time with tackle La'el Collins, and with all the new contracts, owner Jerry Jones said that the pie is getting smaller for the future deals the team needs to get done.

So far this year, the team has also reached long-term extensions with linebacker Jaylon Smith and defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence, but the big three of Ezekiel Elliott, Dak Prescott, and Amari Cooper are all still waiting on their deals.

“There’s no question the pie is getting smaller. To the extent we look at how much we allocate to each and every player, each and every position, that creates boundaries,” Jones said, via Pro Football Talk.

The big question now is, do they have enough pie left to keep all three guys? Elliott, Prescott, and Cooper have all made it clear that they want to be paid like one of the best at their respective positions, and all of them are going to take a big chunk of change.

If the team does decide to pay all three guys, they are going to have to probably get very creative with the contracts, and it could be hard for the team to sign future free agents.

Right now, the biggest concern for the Cowboys is figuring out the contract with Elliott to get him back with the team. He has made it clear he won't report to the team without a new contract, so if the team wants him back, Jones is going to have to cut into that pie a little more.
