Dallas Cowboys star Micah Parsons is talking a big game ahead of the 2022 NFL season. Parsons recently said his goal for 2022 is a record-breaking 23 sacks after he racked up 13 in his rookie campaign. Now he's taking aim at the title of best defensive duo in the NFL along with Trevon Diggs.

Parsons named Los Angeles Rams stars Aaron Donald and Jalen Ramsey as the best duo, even calling Donald “the greatest defensive player in history.” While the Cowboys star acknowledged there's work to do to reach their level, he thinks it can happen.

Via Jori Epstein of USA TODAY:

“It’s hard to say we’re the best because I know we’re young and we still make mistakes,” Parsons said. “Aaron Donald, the greatest defensive player in history, with Jalen Ramsey.  So I won’t do it yet. But I think we can become them or even better if we learn together and stick together.”

Parsons won Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2021 while also earning Pro Bowl and All-Pro honors. Diggs also made the Pro Bowl and got All-Pro honors thanks to his league-leading 11 interceptions. The Cowboys cornerback did this in just his second season in the NFL.

With Parsons and Diggs leading the way, Dallas' defense took a major leap after a disastrous 2020 campaign. It helped the Cowboys win the NFC East with a 12-5 record, but they stumbled in the playoffs with a 23-17 loss to the San Francisco 49ers.

For this young Cowboys duo to become the best in the NFL, they will have to sustain this success and help lead Dallas to some postseason wins. Donald and Ramsey just won a Super Bowl with the Rams, and that's the ultimate goal of this Cowboys team after years of playoff failures.
