Recently it's been reported the Dallas Cowboys plan to let Amari Cooper go. They could release him, or trade him away. Either way, the front office aims to regain some cap space through the move. However, this has opened an opportunity for the front office to re-sign Michael Gallup.

According to Adam Schefter, the “Cowboys have been working on a new deal” with Michael Gallup. Considering the franchise is open to the idea of releasing Cooper, it makes sense for Dallas to re-sign Gallup. We'll see how it all plays out, but this seems like a smart business decision for this franchise.

The money the Cowboys could gain back from letting Amari Cooper go can be used on bigger areas of need. Additionally, CeeDee Lamb and Michael Gallup still make a formidable duo at wide receiver. This could lead Dallas to re-sign Dalton Schultz as well, especially considering Blake Jarwin might not be available at the start of the regular season.

We won't know how much money Michael Gallup will sign for, but he's been a consistent pass option for the Cowboys throughout his career. Injuries hindered his season, but he has a ton of talent. Many believed the Cowboys would let him walk, as multiple franchises would be interested in signing the veteran receiver.

We could see the Cowboys make numerous big moves as they adjust the roster. It's early, but these current decisions could form a more well-balanced roster moving forward. Keep an eye on Dallas throughout the offseason, as the front office aims to create a better team for next season. If everything comes together, this franchise should remain on top of the NFC East.
