Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Amari Cooper has missed the last two games because of a positive COVID-19 test while being unvaccinated, and the star wideout is now in danger of missing a third game.

Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy revealed Tuesday that Cooper is back in the building but “still not feeling the best” and still coughing, according to Michael Gehlken of the Dallas Morning News. With Dallas set to face the New Orleans Saints on Thursday Night Football, Cooper's status for the game is still up in the air. It's unclear if the wide receiver is going to practice on Tuesday.

The Cowboys could really use their star wide receiver back in the lineup. Dallas has dropped to 7-4 on the season after starting 6-1. Cooper missed losses to the Kansas City Chiefs and Las Vegas Raiders, with his absence really being felt in the 19-9 defeat at Arrowhead Stadium.

On the season, Cooper has 44 catches for 583 yards and five touchdowns in nine games. He has five 1,000-yard seasons to his name between his time with the Cowboys and Raiders.

The good news for Dallas is the New Orleans Saints have been really struggling as well. The Saints have dipped to 5-6 after a 5-2 start to the season, and it looks like Taysom Hill is set to replace the struggling Trevor Siemian at quarterback. Siemian filled in for the injured Jameis Winston.

Something has to give between these two struggling squads. The Cowboys are hoping to have Amari Cooper back, but that's looking uncertain at the moment.
