Andy Dalton would need to be carted off of the field for the Dallas Cowboys after taking a nasty hit from Jon Bostic. Following the game, Mike McCarthy reacted to Bostic's dirty hit on Dalton, per Calvin Watkins of the Dallas Morning News.

Midway through the third quarter, the Cowboys were down 22-3 and were searching for an answer on offense. On a third-down play in their own territory, Dalton scrambled for six yards and slid to the ground to avoid a hit.

However, while he was sliding to the ground, Bostic delivered an unnecessary hit to Dalton's head, prompting the referees to throw a flag. Besides calling unnecessary roughness on Bostic, the veteran linebacker was disqualified for his inexcusable decision to hit the Cowboys passer in the head.

In addition, as Watkins pointed out when the play occurred, Bostic will likely be receiving a hefty fine for his hit on Dalton. At the least, Dalton seems to be alert and is moving around while he's checked for a concussion.

Of course, Dalton was in as the replacement to Dak Prescott, who suffered a fractured ankle earlier this season. When Dalton made an early exit, rookie signal-caller Ben DiNucci was tasked with stepping in at the quarterback position.

Seeing that Dalton was shaken up and will need to clear concussion protocol, his status for Week 8 is in jeopardy. Without a doubt, we all hope Dalton is able to get healthy and avoids missing any time. And it's safe to say McCarthy and the Cowboys aren't happy with the hit that Bostic made on Dalton to knock him out of the game.
