The Dallas Cowboys have been hit hard by COVID-19, as Mike McCarthy joins the list of players who have tested positive. This team might be in trouble for their Thursday Night Football game against the New Orleans Saints, as things aren't looking great for Dallas right now.
According to Adam Schefter and Dianna Russini, “Mike McCarthy has tested positive for COVID.” The Cowboys are already without star receiver Amari Cooper for the same reason, while Ezekiel Elliott is potentially not playing due to an injury.
Now, the Cowboys will be without their head coach which could be detrimental against the Saints. New Orleans is a well-coached team who will look to steal a win away from Dallas on Thursday Night Football.
The Cowboys have hit a string of bad luck recently. Amari Cooper is still in quarantine due to COVID-19 as he is not vaccinated and must follow the 10-day rule. Meanwhile, Ezekiel Elliott and CeeDee Lamb are dealing with injuries of their own. Although, it sounds like Lamb will be playing on Thursday. Mike McCarthy testing positive is just the cherry on top of what has been a disaster for Dallas.
We'll see how the Thursday night game plays out. The Saints have a string of issues as well but will have a chance to pull off the upset. With everything piling up on the Cowboys all at once, it'll be difficult for this team to get back in the win column. Luckily for them, they have a firm lead on the NFC East, for now, so their playoff hopes aren't in doubt.
