Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy wasn't about to let his team fall to 3-8 on Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings. As such, he was prepared to pull out any last-minute stops to spark momentum in his club before they took the field.

McCarthy did just that, while imposing some Gallagher-like tactics by smashing a few watermelons in the locker room, which sparked quite the rile from the Cowboys squad:

From NFL Network's Tom Pelissero:

“McCarthy pulls out a sledgehammer,” stated Pelissero. “Not a prop, a full sledgehammer you can knock a wall down with, and someone rolls in a bunch of watermelons. Each one has a different objective written on it. McCarthy reads the objective, bam! Smashes the watermelon.”

Of course given how the Cowboys' season has went so far, all it took was an odd-natured pre-game team activity for Dallas to come out swinging against the Vikings, carrying arguably the most momentum we've saw from the 3-7 club so far this season. The end result was a 31-28 victory for the Cowboys, allowing them to snap their four-game losing streak.

The Cowboys have had some misfortunes this season, the worse being the season-ending, gruesome injury to Dak Prescott against the New York Giants during Week 5. Even so, they still remain second in the NFC East, mostly due to a severe lack of talent in the division. If they're able to ride that same momentum into Week 12 against the Washington Football Team, they may be in good standings of ending their season on a good note.
