Dallas Cowboys executive vice president, CEO, and director of player personnel Stephen Jones says the team is still gathering information about the Ezekiel Elliott incident in Las Vegas last weekend.

This was what Jones told The Athletic Dallas Cowboys reporter Calvin Watkins on May 20.

TMZ Sports released a video of authorities handcuffing Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott in the aftermath of the Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas early Saturday morning.

TMZ Sports spotted Elliott, and his girlfriend arguing the parking lot at 3 am on May 19. According to the report, “Zeke never puts his hand on the woman, but he uses his body to block her from walking away several times during the argument.”

Later on, they speak with event security. Elliott suddenly confronts one of them. He uses his body to shove him to a metal gate. Elliott then pushes the security guard with his forearm until he hits the ground, per TMZ Sports.

At that point, Elliott puts his hands in the air and says, “I didn't do anything!” Authorities rush in and put him in handcuffs. Elliott's attorney, Frank Salzano, told TMZ Sports authorities release the Cowboys running back without arresting or charging him.

According to TMZ Sports, “The main reason Zeke wasn't arrested is because the victim didn't want to push forward with charges.”

For his part, Salzano told TMZ Sports, “Security misconstrued and overreacted to the situation.”

Elliott left on Saturday evening to attend his youth football camp in Dallas the following day. He could still face discipline from the NFL for potentially violating its personal conduct policy, per TMZ Sports.

Should that potential discipline warrant a suspension, the Dallas Cowboys will start the 2019 NFL season on a sour note.
