Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Terrance Williams will now become an unrestricted free agent after Dallas declined his option with the team.

According to Adam Schefter's report, Williams' option will not be renewed by the team he's called home for the past few years. Schefter, however, feels sanguine about Williams' chances once he enters free agency.

Of course, there's reason to believe that Terrance Williams may not be quickly picked up once he enters unrestricted free agency.

He only had two receptions for 18 yards this past season, and that won't exactly have teams lining up to bring him in. But as Schefter mentions, his overall speed could be appealing to teams that are in need of depth at the wide receiver position.

As for the Cowboys, they clearly have their star wideout thanks to the emergence of Amari Cooper, with the former Oakland Raiders receiver making a huge impact this season.

Next on the agenda for Jason Garrett's team is improving a few areas of weakness so that the Cowboys can have a better chance at making their return to the Super Bowl.

It's clear that owner Jerry Jones wants that to happen, and if it doesn't Garrett's job security could be worth watching.
