The Dallas Cowboys lost another game on Sunday against the New England Patriots and Jason Garrett's hot seat is getting warmer. As a result, Urban Meyer is the betting favorite to be the head coach of the Cowboys next season per Jon Machota.

Following the Cowboys' loss on Sunday, owner Jerry Jones was very critical of his coaching staff. Despite his comments, Dallas isn't expected to make a coaching change before the end of the 2019 season.

But after the season comes to a close, it's almost a foregone conclusion at this point that Garrett is on his way out of Dallas. One of the only ways that Garrett could save his job is to miraculously lead the Cowboys to a Super Bowl.

Among the possible replacements, plenty of people believe that Meyer will be the Cowboys' head coach in 2020. Meyer currently spends his time as a college football analyst on FOX Sports.

Before becoming an analyst, Meyer was a storied head coach in college football with the Florida Gators and Ohio State Buckeyes. Throughout his college career, Meyer led Florida and Ohio State to a total of three national championship wins.

As for Garrett, he owns an 83-64 regular-season record and a 2-3 record in the playoffs. Despite having talented players, Garrett has never led Dallas to the NFC Championship Round.

Due to his inability to defeat the better teams in the NFL, Jones is likely going to make a change in 2020. Whether it is Meyer or someone else, they will be inheriting an extremely talented roster.
