The Dallas Cowboys emerged as a possible suitor for Emmanuel Sanders earlier this week, but the chances of him signing with the Cowboys have subsided. According to ESPN's Todd Archer, Sanders is not expected to sign with Dallas.

For the most part, there hasn't been much interest from teams in free agency on the wide receiver front. Nevertheless, Sanders appears to have his sights on receiving one more lucrative contract before his career comes to an end.

The Cowboys, after finalizing a deal with Amari Cooper, would love to add Sanders to their receiving corps. However, with Dak Prescott still needing an extension, Dallas is being cautious with how they spend their cap space.

Ahead of the 2019 trade deadline, Sanders was traded to the San Francisco 49ers after spending nearly five and a half seasons with the Denver Broncos. Over the course of his 10 games with the 49ers, the veteran wideout hauled in 36 receptions for 502 yards and three touchdowns.

Despite having his role reduced in San Francisco, Sanders still helped the 49ers reach the Super Bowl this past season. But at 33 years old, Sanders is seeking a deal that is too expensive for the Cowboys' liking.

So far this offseason, Dallas lost Randall Cobb in free agency to the Houston Texans. Besides Cooper, the only reliable receiver that the Cowboys have on their roster is Michael Gallup.

Provided that, there's no doubt that Dallas would benefit from adding Sanders in free agency. With that being said, the likeliness of Sanders signing with the Cowboys has decreased drastically.
