Knives Out director Rian Johnson recently posted a black-and-white photo of Daniel Craig in a first look of the hit franchise’s next installment, Wake Up Dead Man.

In the photo, Craig is looking off to the side, in a light-colored three-piece suit and holding a dark fedora. However, unlike the previous two movies where his Benoit Blanc sported a crew cut, this time around the former James Bond looks dapper in an almost chin-length haircut and what seems to be blonde hair. Or maybe he has embraced going fully gray… it’s difficult to tell colors when the image is in monochrome.

The name’s Blanc. Benoit Blanc.

Daniel Craig acting in various roles in his career.

One commenter @ny_paralegal wrote, “Benoit Blanc is giving off major Oppenheimer vibes in that stylish suit and hat.” I get what they mean, but only if he’d worn the hat.

Another begged for a chance to appreciate the Benoitness of it all in cinemas, “Please, give this one a proper theatrical release, Long haired Benoit deserves to be seen on the big screen.”

Yet another user wrote the comment, “benoit wondering who the next bond is gonna be.”

Quite a few have suggested that the film’s soundtrack include Megadeath’s Wake Up Dead, since the song’s title is just one word short of the movie’s. Or they could always go with Radiohead’s Knives Out for the ambiance. Or Story Of The Year’s Knives Out in honor of Benoit’s if-styled-a-certain-way-it-would-be-emo-slash-rock hair. Depending on where the movie’s set, Ariza and Maisy Kay’s Knives Out. If there’s a club scene, Downfvll and SEBZERA’s Knives Out.

And if you’re more insistent on keeping with the “Wake Up Dead” theme, there’s T-Pain and Chris Brown’s Wake Up Dead. You could always go with Atomic 45’s Wake Up Dead if Megadeath’s too on the nose.

The Avengers take over Knives Out

The third Knives out film has a stacked cast. Actors have been announced one after another in the past week alone. There are currently four actors who’ve starred in the Marvel Cinematic Universe: Josh Brolin (Thanos in the Avengers and Cable in Deadpool, if we can count that), Mark Ruffalo (Bruce Banner/Hulk in the Avengers), Jeremy Renner (Clint Barton/Hawkeye in the Avengers and the Hawkeye miniseries) and Glenn Close (Nova Prime in Guardians of the Galaxy).

Their fellow MCU cast mates were in the previous installments, namely Chris Evans (Steve Rogers/Captain America) in the first film, Edward Norton (Bruce Banner/Hulk), Dave Bautista (Drax) and Kathryn Hahn (Agatha Harkness in WandaVision and the upcoming Disney+ series Agatha All Along) in the second, Glass Onion.

Joining Craig and the MCU alums are Josh O’Connor, Cailee Spaeny, Andrew Scott, Kerry Washington, Thomas Haden Church and Mila Kunis.

Would it be too much if Paul Giamatti gets added last minute? Or is there such a thing as too much when it comes to the Knives Out universe?
