Netflix's Knives Out 3 (properly titled Wake Up Dead Man) has added another MCU star to its cast: Josh Brolin. He joins fellow Avengers: Endgame star Jeremy Renner and more in the film. Daniel Craig will also return as Detective Benoit Blanc in the threequel.

The Hollywood Reporter broke the news of the latest Knives Out 3 cast addition. Brolin joins Craig, Josh O'Connor, Cailee Spaeny, Andrew Scott, Kerry Washington, Glenn Close, and Mila Kunis.

What is Knives Out 3 about?

Plot details and characters are being kept under wraps. Other former MCU alums Chris Evans and Edward Norton were the primary bad guys in the previous Knives Out films, there are several in the third film (granted, Glass Onion featured Dave Bautista and Kathryn Hahn).

Rian Johnson will write and direct the film. He previously wrote and directed the last two films in the series. He will produce it as well with his producing partner, Ram Bergman, via T-Street.

The first Knives Out film was a big hit at the box office. Released in 2019, the film made over $300 million. This was a big feat for an original film.

Netflix subsequently acquired the rights to two sequels. The first, Glass Onion, was released in 2022. However, it didn't have nearly the same box office success. It grossed just $13 million during its theatrical run.

Granted, this wasn't the film's fault. Netflix gave the film the widest theatrical release of any film from the streaming service, but it was a far cry from what the first film got from Lionsgate. Plus, it debuted on Netflix just a month or so after its theatrical release, incentivizing viewers to wait until it dropped on streaming to watch it.

Daniel Craig has led both installments as Benoit Blanc. However, the casts around him have changed.

The first Knives Out featured Jamie Lee Curtis, Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, Michael Shannon, Toni Collette, and Christopher Plummer, to name a few, in its ensemble.

Glass Onion featured Edward Norton, Janelle Monáe, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr., and Madelyn Cline in its ensemble.

Who is in Wake Up Dead Man?

Since Wake Up Dead Man has been revealed as the third Knives Out film's title, the cast has quickly assembled. Josh O'Connor and Cailee Spaeny were the first to join the ensemble. Quickly, the likes of Andrew Scott, Kerry Washington, Glenn Close, Jeremy Renner, and Mila Kunis were cast.
