The league has fined Dallas Mavericks point guard Devin Harris $25,000 on Friday for “aggressively pursuing a game official” and failing to leave the court in a timely manner after his ejection on Wednesday's 121-118 loss to the New Orleans Pelicans.

Harris was hit in the face with a Jordan Crawford elbow out of the triple threat position, with sideline referee Ben Taylor calling a blocking foul against the Mavs guard.

Upon getting wind of the call, an irate Harris got up and rushed to confront the official, at which point he had to be held back by his teammates and referee Lauren Holtkamp, as he received two technical fouls and was subsequently ejected from the game.

Mavericks head coach Rick Carlisle was surprised by Harris' unlikely reaction, claiming he had never seen him act like that since he started coaching the team.

“He was getting hit in some picks and took some elbows and he kept getting the fouls,” teammate Dirk Nowitzki told the Associated Press after the game. “He just reacted — rightfully so.”
