Already missing the services of Justise Winslow and Tyler Johnson, the Miami Heat received even more bad news as their starting shooting guard suffered an injury as well.

Dion Waiters is expected to miss at least two weeks after an MRI showed that he has a torn pectineus muscle in his groin and will be re-evaluated in two weeks to check on his progress.

The injury has been bugging the 24-year-old Syracuse product since the start of the season but has played through it. Team doctors have now decided that he should sit out some games to fully heal the muscle tear.

This is definitely a huge blow to the Heat especially with Waiters being one of their most potent players this season. He has been averaging 14.2 points, 3.4 rebounds, and a career-high 4.0 assists per game.

Wayne Ellington is expected to fill the void left by Waiters in the starting lineup with Rodney McGruder also seeing an uptick in his minutes.
