The MLB lockout came to an end Thursday when the owners and players finally came to an agreement on a new collective bargaining agreement. But before baseball finally returned, longtime Los Angeles Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw kept himself busy with a side gig at Raising Cane's in his hometown of Dallas.

Kershaw surprised fans at the drive-through window and behind the register earlier this week:

Why Raising Cane's?

The Dodgers legend wanted to help out the fast food establishment because they have supported his charity, Kershaw's Challenge. This was a cool thing to do and surely made the days of a whole lot of fans.

While Kershaw had his fun at Raising Cane's, now it's time to focus on baseball again with the lockout over. And in Kershaw's case, he'll be focused on free agency.

The lefty has been with the Dodgers for his entire MLB career since coming into the league back in 2008. He quickly developed into the most consistently dominant starting pitcher of his era, winning three Cy Young Awards in a span of four years from 2011-14. He finished in second place in the year he didn't win, and then he finished in the top five in all three years from 2015-17.

After three more solid seasons, Kershaw took a step back in 2021 as he dealt with an injury, limiting him to 22 starts. He still had a stellar 3.55 ERA and 144 strikeouts in 121 2/3 innings, though a 3.55 ERA is bad for Kershaw, who boasts a career 2.49 ERA.

The lefty could very well return to the Dodgers, but it doesn't seem to be a guarantee at this point as free agency opens up again.
