Team Mexico baseball is preparing to square off against Team Japan on Monday. Both squads are looking to punch their ticket to the World Baseball Classic championship. Los Angeles Dodgers' starting pitcher Julio Urias was removed from Mexico baseball's WBC roster on Monday, however, he wasn't expected to pitch anyway after appearing on Friday, per Jorge Castillo. Urias will still remain with the team.

The winner of Monday's game will have to face a red hot USA team on Tuesday in the WBC championship. Taking down the United States ball club will be a challenge without question, especially with Trea Turner swinging the bat like he has over the past couple of games. Nevertheless, Japan and Mexico feature no shortage of talent. In fact, Mexico baseball already upset the USA earlier in the World Baseball Classic.

Although, Mexico will need other pitchers to step up with Julio Urias unavailable moving forward. The Dodgers' star pitcher has emerged as one of the best hurlers in the game over the past couple of years. Urias wasn't perfect in his most recent WBC outing, but there's no question that Team Mexico would love to have him pitch on Monday or Tuesday.

Regardless, Mexico baseball has received impressive performances from players on their roster. Randy Arozarena stole the show in Mexico's latest victory over Puerto Rico. The team would certainly benefit from another big performance from him versus Japan.

Mexico and Japan will square off on Monday at 7:00 PM EST at loanDepot park in Miami, FL.
