Trevor Bauer is continuing his revenge tour against major media outlets. Bauer already filed a lawsuit against Deadspin, and he is now reportedly filing another lawsuit against The Athletic and a reporter by the name of Molly Knight. Bauer made the announcement himself on Twitter.

The former Cy Young award winner was accused of sexual assult last season and has not played since. However, all charges were void after Bauer proved not guilty. The court made the judgment that there was no abuse involved.

But Trevor Bauer was not happy to only have his name cleared by the court. He wanted to make sure every major media source that reported any form of misinformation was held accountable. Bauer recently submitted the following complaint against the Athletic and their former MLB reporter, Molly Knight.

“Within days of the Complainant filing a petition for a restraining order against Mr. Bauer, the on-line sports news website The Athletic and its former employee Molly Knight (“Defendants”) defamed Mr. Bauer by creating and spreading the false narrative that Mr. Bauer fractured the Complainant’s skull. There was no basis for that assertion because the Complainant’s own medical  records—which The Athletic possessed—showed that she had no such fracture. Nonetheless, consistent with their prior and subsequent expressions of animus  toward Mr. Bauer, The Athletic and Ms. Knight publicized that false attack, which was picked up and further disseminated to a larger audience by other media outlets and social media sites.”

The Athletic published the statements accusing Bauer of performing the aforementioned acts in June of 2021. His complaint also called out Knight for spreading this information through Twitter.

Trevor Bauer is expected to find out his official punishment, if any, from MLB by mid-April. For now, he is clearly focused on fully clearing his name.
