Yasiel Puig has been one of the most polarizing players in baseball over the last few years. He has been a key part of the Los Angeles Dodgers' playoff runs, but has also gone through slumps that has hurt the team. Heading into this offseason, his future with the franchise is in doubt by many.

According to a report from the Los Angeles Times, there is league wide speculation that the Dodgers will try to trade Puig this offseason. No rumors have come out about potential landing spots for him, but it sounds like L.A. is almost done hoping he will become the superstar that many thought he would be.

Trading Puig is not going to be an easy task for the Dodgers. He will be a free agent next offseason. A team may be willing to take him off the Dodgers' hands, but he is not good enough to warrant giving much in return for a potential one-year return.

Last season with the Dodgers, Puig ended up batting .267 to go along with 23 home runs and 63 RBI's. He was very productive during the regular season and that version of him would be very intriguing to quite a few different teams looking to add more pop to their lineup.

In the postseason, Puig had a good showing as well. He played in 16 games for the Dodgers, hitting two home runs, driving in eight, and batting .300. Los Angeles certainly relied on his bat, but they seem interested in moving on from him.

Needless to say, the Dodgers would miss the entertainment and excitement that Puig brings to the diamond. He has become a fan favorite, although fans have also grown frustrated with him when his inconsistent moments come around.

At 28 years old, Puig is in his prime and it shouldn't be too difficult to trade him. Los Angeles may end up keeping him around, but for now it appears that he will see his name mentioned in trade rumors this offseason.

Expect to hear quite a few teams line up with interest in acquiring him if he does reach the trade block.
