The Miami Dolphins officially began the early portion of their offseason practices. Unfortunately, wide receiver Albert Wilson is still unable to join them.

Wilson is still nursing a hip injury that plagued him through most of the 2018 NFL season. According to ESPN's Cameron Wolfe, he and wide receiver Jakeem Grant have not been cleared for activity:

Dolphins WRs Albert Wilson (hip), Jakeem Grant (lower leg) are working themselves back toward 100% from their injuries.

The update should hardly come as any surprise. Although both players had carved out integral roles in the offense, they each ended up on injured reserve by season's end. The Dolphins are not trying to rush them back before they are 100 percent.

Wilson signed a three-year deal with Miami last offseason. He delivered modest production, finishing the 2018 campaign with 26 receptions for 391 receiving yards and four touchdowns. His numbers can largely be attributed to the lackluster Dolphins' offense. Regardless, he figures to remain a top option in the passing game.

Meanwhile, Grant's season came to an end after he suffered a left foot injury in November that ultimately required surgery. He registered 21 receptions for 268 yards and two touchdowns while also serving as the team's primary return man. It is safe to say that the Dolphins will want to get the ball in his hands as much as possible.

It is no secret that Miami is currently in the midst of a difficult rebuild. As a result, the Dolphins will need to rely heavily on their young talent if they hope to be competitive in 2019.
