The Miami Dolphins still remain winless heading into Week 9 of the 2019 NFL season. Regardless, it appears head coach Brian Flores still has no intention of switching from quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick.

Flores opted to roll with Fitzpatrick over quarterback Josh Rosen because he gave them the better chance to win. It appears his reasoning has not changed, via NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport:

Dolphins coach Brian Flores tells reporters that QB Ryan Fitzpatrick and will remain the starter because he gives them the best chance to win.

It is safe to say that Miami has not had much luck with either quarterback this season. Regardless, the decision to stick with Fitzpatrick is telling of how they view their situation under center.

The veteran still has yet to win any of his four starts and his lackluster play at times has even resulted in him getting benched. Although Fitzpatrick has managed to pick up the slack in recent games, it is hardly enough to spur any kind of resurgence for the Dolphins. However, it is evident the Flores is still much more confident with him leading the offense.

The update is hardly an encouraging sign for Rosen. Miami had given up a second and fifth-round pick in order to acquire him from the Arizona Cardinals this offseason to be their potential franchise quarterback in the future. Unfortunately, that is looking much less likely with Flores giving the nod to Rosen amidst their current struggles.

While the Dolphins are playing for pride at this point in the season, it will undoubtedly be interesting to see which of these quarterbacks is able to lead them to their first win.
