Th Miami Dolphins have had a successful NFL offseason. Having committed to quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, the franchise signed talented left tackle Terron Armstead to better protect him, while bringing in new offensive weapons, such as wide receiver Tyreek Hill and running backs Chase Edmonds and Raheem Mostert. In the NFL draft, the Dolphins addressed both sides of the ball, bringing in a pair of linebackers, a quarterback and a wide receiver. However, they weren't quite done yet. The Dolphins signed this former New England Patriots first round pick on Monday, as reported by NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Per Rapoport, the Dolphins have added former Patriots first-rounder Sony Michel to their running back room this NFL offseason. The Dolphins will be Michel's third career team.

The 27-year-old tallied 208 carries for 845 rushing yards and four scores on the ground in 17 games played for the Los Angeles Rams in 2021. A series of lower body injuries- knee, ankle, foot and quad ailments- have robbed Michel of the form he found for the Patriots as a rookie back in 2018.

However, in a running back room that also features the likes of Edmonds, Mostert, and Myles Gaskin, Michel won't have to carry the load.

The Dolphins have the luxury of possessing three running backs who played prominent roles for their previous teams. It could be a great landing spot for Sony Michel, who will be returning to the AFC East in 2022.
