The Miami Dolphins aren't going anywhere fast this season, much to the dismay of first-year NFL head coach Brian Flores. However, Flores has remained incredibly professional throughout the season while continuing to provide the media with pivotal information while most recently announcing that running back Kalen Ballage will remain the team's starter for at least another week.

With the Dolphins previously trading away fellow running back Kenyan Drake to the Arizona Cardinals, Ballage has since encountered an increased workload, though he was previously splitting time with the aforementioned Drake en route to receiving a heavy volume of carries.

Even though Ballage will remain the team's starter at running back, the Dolphins rushing attack has struggled mightily this season. As it stands today, Ballage is averaging an NFL low 1.9 yards per carry this season. As a team, the Dolphins are currently averaging a league-low 63.2 rushing yards per game, which has the lowly AFC East franchise on pace to put together one of the worst efforts — in not the worst — in franchise history.

Thanks to the team's inability to run the football or utilize one workhorse running back throughout the season, the Dolphins are now on pace to rush for a mere 1,011 yards in 2019-20. If that figure is upheld by the Dolphins, it would mark the least productive single-season rushing total in franchise history. Not only that, but such a mark includes seasons that saw the team play only 14 regular-season games.

The Dolphins are now just 2-9 on the season.
