The Miai Dolphins are looking to get back into the win column as they get set to hit the road to take on the Cleveland Browns in Week 12. It appears their secondary will be severely shorthanded.

According to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport, the Dolphins have placed safety Reshad Jones and cornerback Bobby McCain on injured reserve:

The Dolphins have placed a couple veterans DBs on Injured Reserve, as S Reshad Jones and CB Bobby McCain see their seasons end.

The loss of both of these players undoubtedly deals yet another crushing blow to Miami's secondary. The absence of cornerback Xavien Howard already left a rather notable void over the top after he was placed on injured reserve earlier in the year. They will now have to find a way to fill the gaps once again.

Jones is the Dolphins' longest-tenured player and has served as a stabilizing factor for this defense amidst all the significant changes they ushered in this season. The veteran had already missed four games with a chest injury before he was sidelined once again following the loss to the Buffalo Bills. There is now plenty of speculation regarding whether nor not his nine-year tenure with the team has come to a close.

Losing McCain for the rest of the year also leaves Miami without some much-needed depth and are now left with one true defensive back on the roster in Walt Aikens. As a result, the team has since signed safety Adrian Colbert off the Seattle Seahawks' practice squad.
