It'll be scorching hot when the Miami Dolphins take on the Detroit Lions this Sunday, and one team thinks they can use the weather to their advantage. Last week, the Dolphins edged the Chicago Bears 31-28. The conditions seemed to be affecting Bears players, as they weren't used to the Florida heat. In Week 7, the Dolphins think the weather will benefit them at home when they take on another northern team. Dolphins head coach Adam Gase says this is where their training kicks in.

“I think our guys believe that the fact we train down here and we’re living in this that it’s to our advantage,” Gase told The Detroit News. “And I think it’s one of things where it kind of reminds me of when we were in Denver, whether the altitude thing was real or not, our guys felt like it was.”

The Dolphins are 4-2, while the Lions sit at 2-3. Most have considered the Dolphins' success so far this season to be a pleasant surprise. However, they'll entire this week without their starting quarterback, Ryan Tannehill. His replacement, Brock Osweiler, was good enough to beat a very good Bears team, so they'll hope he can hold on for a couple more weeks. Tannehill is expected to miss time through Week 8 at the very least, as he recovers from a shoulder injury.

There's not telling what the Lions will look like on Sunday. They've been one of the NFL's most inconsistent teams. Their two wins have come against the New England Patriots and the Green Bay Packers. However, they've lost to the New York Jets and San Francisco 49ers.

On Sunday, we'll get to see if their bye week prepared them for the unfamiliar weather conditions they'll face in Miami.
