Miami Dolphins offensive lineman Mike Pouncey is not a man to mince words. The talented lineman, following the trade of running back Jay Ajayi to the Philadelphia Eagles, is apparently not too thrilled about it.

“He said, ‘This is where we’re at, this is where we’re going to go; if you’re not on board, you’re going to be the hell out of there,’” Pouncey said, via Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald.

Multiple Dolphins players said they were surprised Ajayi was traded, and Pouncey reacted as well as expected, even if he understands why the decision was made.

“It sucks. It could be any one of us. Jay was really good to us,” Pouncey said.

There's a few things worth mentioning to go along with these quotes. The biggest of which is that Mike Pouncey isn't some rookie or young kid in his career that another Dolphins rebuild would result in him grinning from ear-to-ear.

At the same time, he is a respected veteran in the Miami locker room and appears to be handling this relatively well, despite seeming somewhat frustrated by the trade. The fact that Pouncey is a known loyalist, almost to a fault, probably doesn't help in seeing a teammate like Jay Ajayi get sent packing.

Nevertheless, winning cures all. While it probably won't be this season for Miami, there are pieces in place to make a run for whenever — if ever (?) — the New England Patriots stop dominating the National Football League.

Then again, we have been saying that for five years.
