The Miami Dolphins have gotten off to a historically bad start to their season, but if you thought that meant they would be making a change under center, think again.

Dolphins head coach Brian Flores said on Monday that Ryan Fitzpatrick will remain the team's starting quarterback heading into their Week 3 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys, according to Andrew Siciliano of NFL Network.

At first glance, Flores' decision to stick with Fitzpatrick seems mind-boggling.

Miami has managed just 10 points in its first two games, as Fitzpatrick has completed only 25 of his 50 passes for 274 yards, a touchdown, and four interceptions, posting a passer rating of 39.9.

But on the other hand, would switching to Josh Rosen now be a good idea?

The Dolphins are an atrocious football team with limited talent on both sides of the football, and their offensive line has been weakened considerably since trading Laremy Tunsil just before the season started.

If Miami throws Rosen to the wolves now, especially against a fierce Cowboys defense, you are risking potentially destroying any confidence he may currently have after what was a rough rookie campaign with the Arizona Cardinals.

So, while the instant reaction may be to rip Flores for not making the change, it is not such an easy decision, as Flores is essentially between a rock and a hard place.

At some point, however, the Dolphins are going to need to see what they have in Rosen in order to decide what they should be looking for in the draft next spring.
