The Miami Dolphins have been handed a major blow ahead of Week 3. After further testing, it's been revealed that quarterback Tua Tagovailoa will be sidelined this weekend due to a rib injury he sustained in Week 2:

Tagovailoa exited Sunday's 35-0 loss to the Bills after getting hit by defensive end AJ Epenesa. While it was initially thought that the Dolphins would take this situation day by day, it's a lot worse than expected.

This is definitely concerning for Brian Flores and Miami considering they have a few tough matchups ahead against the Raiders, Colts, and Buccaneers. Fractured ribs don't exactly heal quickly and the Dolphins need to be careful with Tua's rehab because one hit can put him back on the sidelines if not fully recovered.

Unfortunately, the Dolphins don't have any solid options to replace Tagovailoa. Jacoby Brissett will reportedly get the start though, who has already received a number of snaps through their first two games. Reid Sinnett will back him up.

So far this year, Tua Tagovailoa has completed 17 of 31 passing attempts for 215 yards while throwing for one TD and one interception. He didn't get out of the first quarter against Buffalo before getting injured. The Dolphins will definitely miss him vs. Oakland, who are unbeaten. But, his long-term health is what's most important.
