The Miami Dolphins have suffered yet another disappointing loss falling 32-21 to the Detroit Lions in Week 7 that also featured the loss of wide receiver Albert Wilson to a hip injury that requires season-ending surgery.

With that in mind, it has placed wideout DeVante Parker back into the fold for Week 8 action against the Houston Texans on Thursday night as head coach Adam Gase stated as much on Monday afternoon, according to Tom Pelissero of The NFL Network.

Parker has played in just one game this season that took place back in Week 3 against the Oakland Raiders where he hauled in two of his three targets for 40 receiving yards. He had initially missed the first two games played as he was recovering from finger surgery that occurred in mid-August. However, Parker has now missed the four games due to a quadriceps injury that had led to the team to explore the trade market for a possible move.

Things haven't truly moved on that end of the spectrum over the last few weeks, which has led to the 25-year-old's agent to publicly blast Gase's handling of the entire situation over the first half of the year. However, the Dolphins have been pushed into a spot of having to play him because of the injuries to their wide receiver core with Kenny Stills also out with a stringed groin that has left them shorthanded.

Miami will likely lean on him to provide stability to their passing game alongside wideouts Danny Amendola and Jakeem Grant with them being the only three active wide receivers in the roster. It has been a rocky situation for both sides, but him playing a crucial role in the offense could be what gets him back on the right track past what has been a disappointing start to the 2018 campaign.
