Report: Draymond Green out vs. Nets after birth of his son
Green’s status for the next two road games is yet to be determined. His son, Draymond Jamal Green Jr., was born on Thursday at 3:55 a.m. PT.
Today at 3:55am PST Draymond Jamal Green was welcomed into the world! I've never experienced such a feeling like I did when I watched his entry. Family is such an important part of my life and to welcome a kid into this world is a dream come true. @jaykay35 you were a soldier and I appreciate you more than you will ever know! My baby girl Kyla was there and slept through the entire thing but she was also a soldier through the whole process and will be a great big sister! It's been a long time coming and it has finally come where we welcome Draymond Jr. Into the world! I am super thankful and overjoyed!!! Thanks to my Mama & mother in law Jackie for holding it down until I made it!
Andre Iguodala and David West are both candidates to get the nod to start in place of Green, which could mean several minutes at power forward for Kevin Durant and plenty of ideas for head coach Steve Kerr to tinker with.
The Warriors (25-4) will likely try to put an emphasis on defense as they have done so the last few games, including limiting the Utah Jazz to a season-low 74 points on Tuesday.
Green’s absence will greatly test Golden State’s ability to defend efficiently and keep fouls to a minimum while doing so. He leads the team in rebounds (8.8), assists (7.2), and steals (2.3) while averaging 10.6 points.
