An old ACC program has come out of the shadows to revel in the Duke Blue Devils’ home loss to the North Carolina Tar Heels in Mike Krzyzewski’s final regular-season game Saturday night. That’s the Maryland Terrapins, now playing in the Big Ten, whose social media team decided to post this image from many years ago in an attempt to add to the frustrations Duke fans are feeling after blowing a chance to score a win against North Carolina.

The Terrapins last played in the ACC in 2014, but they clearly still check what’s happening over in their old league from time to time.
While losing to the Tar Heels in Coach K’s final regular-season game as Duke’s head coach was a true bummer, especially for the Blue Devils nation, that shouldn’t in any way overshadow the immense accomplishments of all the great things he’s done in Durham.
Plus, the season isn’t over for Duke. The Blue Devils are heading to the Big Dance with still a shot at winning the national title. They also have the ACC regular-season title in the bag, which isn’t a shabby accomplishment for Krzyzewski in his final season in college basketball.
As for Maryland, it’s unlikely to gain entry into the 2022 March Madness as an at-large berth.
