The Philadelphia Eagles are back in the Super Bowl for the first time since 2004 with Nick Foles leading the charge under center.

This has been in place of Pro Bowl quarterback Carson Wentz, who has been on the mend from a torn ACL and LCL since early December. Despite the Eagles experiencing much success without him, Wentz is hoping to help out in any fashion possible in hopes of the franchise's securing its first Super Bowl win, according to Tiffany Blackmon of The NFL Network.

It's clear that Wentz wishes he could be playing in the contest, but his complete support for Foles and the rest of the team is another uplifting factor. This can only help provide much confidence in his teammate to get the job done against arguably the best team in the league over the last several years in the Patriots, who have reached the Super Bowl in three of the last four seasons.

Foles has played quite well in Wentz's absence helping guide the Eagles to this stage of the playoffs behind his steady play. He is coming off a possibly career-defining outing against the Minnesota Vikings in the NFC Championship Game where he completed 26 of 33 passes for 352 yards with three touchdowns while holding a 141.4 passer rating. The Eagles will need Foles to put on another strong outing if they are hoping to top the Patriots.

There may not be much that Wentz can do to help the situation, but any tidbits of information or insight could go a long way in helping the 29-year-old perform at a high level in the first Super Bowl appearance of his career. This two-week period before the game could provide some valuable time to further break down the Patriots defense and what to look for on the field in certain situations throughout the game.

Ultimately, the Eagles' fate could lie in Foles' hands, which makes Wentz voicing his support and offering his help a possibly crucial part in preparation for the game.
