Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Chris Long has not been shy about his views about politics. The two-time Super Bowl winner's political opinions are pretty similar to those of NBA superstar LeBron James, who has also been critical of President Donald Trump in the past.

So when James was recently told to “shut up and dribble” by Fox News commentator Laura Ingraham for expressing his views regarding Trump, Long came to King James’ defense on Twitter.

Long posted a series of tweets featuring pictures of different high-profile celebrities coming on Fox News, which highlight the hypocrisy of Ingraham's point that James shouldn’t express his political beliefs because he’s a basketball player.

Basically, Long’s point is that Fox News and its supporters have had no problem in the past getting the political opinions of seemingly unqualified people like actors, musicians, sports personalities if they shared similar beliefs as the network. But when someone like James expresses a contradictory view, they suddenly dismiss his credibility to speak on the topic.

As one of the more politically outspoken athletes around these days, it clearly peeves Long that such a double standard exists, especially among conservatives. He does raise a fair point regarding the issue and has every right to raise it.

Long’s views obviously won’t sit well with the part of the population that watches Fox News and agrees with Ingraham's take regarding James. But it likely won’t stop Long from continuing to speak up and express his own opinions on social media anytime soon.
