DeSean Jackson and the Philadelphia Eagles have parted ways with the wide receiver after an illustrious career with the team. Jackson had two stints with the team and spent eight seasons and will now be hitting free agency once again.

Jackson took his thoughts to social media and posted them on his Instagram page.

He was a huge part of the team for years, but after playing a total of eight games in the past two seasons, the Eagles felt it was time to let him go. Jackson had various injuries over the past two years and before that was one of the best deep threats in the game, as he posted.

His first stint with the Eagles was terrific and he posted three seasons with at least 1,000 yards before going to Washington. He spent three years in the nation's capital before joining the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for two seasons.

Jackson can still play when healthy, the issue is he hasn't been healthy since 2017. His last 1,000-yard season was in 2016 with Washington when he posted 1,005 yards in 15 games.

He should have suitors, although the market will be tough with receivers like JuJu Smith-Schuster, Allen Robinson, Chris Godwin, and Kenny Golladay set to hit free agency as well.

Jackson appeared to be back in 2020 with an 81-yard touchdown pass from Jalen Hurts. However, the Eagles continue to shed salary in an effort to be able to spend in free agency, and releasing Jackson is just step one.

The Eagles just traded Carson Wentz to the Indianapolis Colts, in turn, pegging Hurts as their starter going forward, for now at least.

DeSean Jackson can still provide teams with a deep threat and a decent returner and he should have no problem finding a team to scoop him up, although it will probably be a cheap one-year deal.
