The Philadelphia Eagles are coming off of a 17-10 loss to the New England Patriots and are just 5-5 on the season, but head coach Doug Pederson is perfectly fine with the odds being stacked against his group.

Pederson thinks the Eagles can draw a bit from last year when they were in a similar position to try and make a push for the playoffs:

“I think last year we were 4-6 at this time and we made a push and got ourselves into the postseason,” Pederson said on Wednesday, according to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk. “We did need some help obviously at the end of the year, but we still made that run because we felt like we have to control what we can control.”

Philadelphia has been ravaged by injuries, particularly in its receiving corps where DeSean Jackson is out for the year due to core muscle surgery and Alshon Jeffery's status is in question as a result of an ankle injury.

However, Pederson thinks his club can adapt just fine:

“It’s just a resilient group,” Pederson said. “I lean on the leaders, I lean on the veteran players on the team to really keep everything coming. We just have to go practice and continue to trust our process, and do all the little things that really helped us get to the postseason and then ultimately the Super Bowl a couple years ago.”

Of course, the Eagles are a very different team than they were a couple of years ago, and they are also a game behind the Dallas Cowboys for first place in the NFC East.

If Philly is going to catch Dallas, it will certainly need to develop some more consistency moving forward, injuries or not.

The Eagles will take on the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday.
