Prior to the Eagles vs. Washington matchup being postponed (now on Tuesday, rather than the original scheduling of Sunday afternoon), head coach Nick Sirianni gave a promising update on quarterback Jalen Hurts. According to Sirianni, all signs point towards Hurts being available to perform by Sunday.

“He was full today. He's questionable, but he's trending in the right direction, and we're hopeful,” Sirianni said Friday afternoon. Although Hurts is still listed as questionable for Week 15, there is a really good chance that he will suit up for the Birds.

In fact, with the game being postponed, Eagles fans should expect Hurts to start even more than Sirianni originally alluded. If the team was “hopeful” that their starting quarterback would be available for Sunday, they most likely have even higher expectations for Hurts to play on Tuesday.

Their Week 15 game postponement allows Hurts to have two extra days to recover. He has spent the past two weeks nursing an ankle sprain that he suffered along with a loss to the Giants in Week 12. Backup quarterback Gardner Minshew took his place as the starter for the Eagles' win over the Jets in Week 13, and they had a much  needed bye in Week 14.

The postponement might be good for the Eagles in the sense that it gives Hurts' extra recovery time, but it negatively affects them in Week 16. The late game gives the Birds a much shorter window to prepare for their must win divisional matchup against the Giants.
