The Philadelphia Eagles were victorious over the Washington Football Team, 27-17 on Tuesday night. Quarterback Jalen Hurts was instrumental to the victory, throwing for 296 yards and a touchdown while adding 38 rushing yards and two scores on the ground. Hurts reacted after the big win, which involved him breaking Michael Vick's Eagles record.

“I know we’re at .500 for the first time this year. It’s a big deal, but I know the job isn't done — nowhere near from done,” Hurts said. “We know what we want to accomplish. I said it to the guys: We just have to have that mentality of not being denied.”

In typical Jalen Hurts fashion, he didn't mention the Michael Vick record, only the fact that the Eagles were victorious and at .500 for the first time this season.

Hurts- and Eagles fans- know what this team wants to accomplish and one December win over a division-rival isn't it, as big as that win was. As good as Hurts has looked on the field, it is perhaps moments of leadership, such as this, that really set him apart.

Speaking of setting apart, Hurts now stands alone in Eagles' franchise history, as he has scored 10 rushing touchdowns, one more than the previous franchise record of nine set by Michael Vick in 2010.

Not only is leading the Eagles one step closer to a playoff berth a big deal, but so is breaking the record of a former great like Michael Vick.

Jalen Hurts is in good Eagles company as he tries to lead this team to a playoff berth.
